Simple Ways to Protect Yourself From Cali Radiation From Wild Fires

All of the Cali wildfires have the capability to release radiation and heavy metals  

One was especially bad, it burned the Rocketdyne area, which had several accidents, but one big accident, some say 1000 times bigger than 3 Mile Island.  These never got cleaned up, and the plants and trees get them from the ground and become part of the plant/tree.    Thus radiation is released when they burn.

The main threat probably lasts a week.

Great time to eat some Gobo, everyday.  

Solution to avoid uptake is to not breath it (use the good air filters we already have running) and to keep the body saturated with “good chemicals”

If the body is “needy” for chemicals, it will grab the bad chemicals that are often “look a likes” for stuff that is good and the body needs.

Strontium 90 is one of the worst, it gives you bone, blood, liver cancer.    It mimics Calcium, so if you are low in calcium, it can go into your bones.    Take  a vitamin, and especially, for overall health, the combination of Calcium and Magnesium is very good.   Both are now packaged in a single pill.    Drinking milk, of course, is a simple way to boost calcium. 

Cesium 137 is a common and dangerous radio-nuclide (and lasts like 300 years total, just like Strontium 90).    It is a potassium analog, meaning it mimics potassium.   The no brainer way to get more potassium is bananas.    And you really can’t have too much potassium, the body is very good at regulating the amount of potassium and getting rid of the extra. 

But some bonus ideas, that may have other anti-cancer properties…AND more potassium than bananas.

  1. Shitake mushroom, tastes great, 5 times more potassium than banana, and is a cancer fighter.   Portabella, Oyster and Enoki are also high in K (Potassium), and Enoki is a known cancer fighter.
  2. Salmon, twice as much Potassium than banana
  3. Spinach or Parsley
  4. Avocado, my favorite superfood

The other really likely and super dangerous ones are Plutonium and Americium 241.    These can be blocked from internal uptake by keeping the body non-acidic.    Long term use of high level of “Baking Soda” are not healthy and need to be closely looked at, but in a short duration event, like a week, I see no problem with dosing up with several glasses of baking soda water per day, say 1 TSP to 1 TBS per glass.   

Also a great time to do a hot soaking bath with Epsom Salt and Baking Soda!

And for general removal/blocking of dangerous metals (even if not radioactive) the classic chelators should be known and used.

  1. Burdock (Japanese Gobo)
  2. Dandelion leaf and root
  3. Cilantro
  4. Garlic is one of the “3 pillars” of detox.
